Update quilt L'etoile

I love this quilt ... and I love to work on it... it is quilt you make in a day... not even in a year, but it makes me happy... I make this quilt for the memory of my father.....

I am very happy with the new leaves and will make a pictures from the all the leaves together..... but I really like the one on top.... didn't think so when making but it turned out quit nice......

It the middle of this nice quilt is a star.... obviously... the name of the quilt l'etoile a quilt of Nathalie Meance !! So i am now not only starting on the borders , because it is with embroidery but i am finally starting on the inside as well...... have a lovely week lots of quilting fun !!!

Quilten en haken....

Weer een stukje verder ... tja het gaat niet snel maar t is wel heel erg leuk

Dit blad is heel leuk om te doen en staat zelfs 3 keer op de eerste foto maar steeds met een ander stofje eronder ziet het er heel anders uit..

Een ovaaltje van roosjes, mijn eerste roosjes nooit geweten hoe dat moest, nou het lijkt heel erg op een spinnenwebje maken alleen dan met draad en een lintje en uiteindelijk heb je een schattig roosje..

Tuurlijk ook nog een beetje haken,... kleine vierkantje aan elkaar , binnenkort weer een update van mijn elke week een rijtje bij haken...

Quilt and l atelier perdu

yes, I am so happy the middle of my new quilt is finished, now I only need a border I am thinking of dark braun, lets see what I can find i my favorite shop de sampler

and the new l' atelier perdu stitching project for 3 months every month you get a new pattern and on there "private site" they will let us more then on the public site if you want to join it is still possible l'atelier perdu

Something old, something new something borrowed something blue

Some more fabrics I bought on the fair... I love making Kaffe fassett quilts and this is one I want to make one day... no hurry with that I like to find nice fabrics for it.... the fabric on the right will be the bases and the rest will follow...... but first a few other quilts who have to be finished.... this is more like a summer project... when summer will come...

I was waiting for better weather to make a nice photo shoot of my Christel seyfahrt Shawl... but that still has to wait, so for now I made some pictures in the home.

 I am really happy with the borders ... was a little scared so many stitches and you just have to wait how it turns out to be... well I think fine !!!!!

And another finish... It was almost finished and then I didn't like it all anymore but now it is so nice to wrap it around to at night or when you are not feeling right it is very soft and you can make a easy knot in it or wrap it around you totally, this is a drops pattern,

 And some new potholders for my kitchen, one pattern is from drops ... yes.... again, really lovely and easy to make.

The other pattern I saw on lucy's blog  quilting with the past, I really loved them and soon I remembered my mother used to make these potholders too and then I made them too... I really like to make them also fun easy and quick sometimes you need a quick project...

Fabrics, beautiful colors, lovely quilts.....

Today I was at a fair in Rijswijk with M . and we found a lot of new pinks I needed for  my new quilt, which new quilt well below you see it, it was on the frontpage of quiltmania jan 2013... it is my new project to be.. ofcourse I first have to finish one.....

We looked at every stand for old pink a color I really love and which makes the quilt very happy... we found a few at yookies at quilt it dotty and at the sampler yes yes yes.... I can begin... or no thats right I first have to finish one..... but I have finished my shawl... will show the pictures an other time...

This little book I took with me to the fair I find it very easy to adjust fabrics to this and look for the fabrics I really need, so I also found some nice braun with pink fabrics.... 

The fluffy chicken who came out for eastern.... I still can't put them back... I just hope spring will start ... today was a lovely sunny day...... still cold but really sunny....

The next text I really like.....

And I am really happy to have such nice new fabrics.. ( I have more to show an other time) So I need less next time ......

how do I work... next to the window at my diner table

I do it with paper piecing, that s right the easy way why not....

Ad this are the two first rows... I am really happy with it working on the third now..

In the mean while I am knitting a spencer for my father he liked the cushions on my sofa so much that I had to make him a spencer of the same material it turns out to be nice warm an comfortable

Paper piecing and other projects

Little update of my new quilt to be.... I really love making the blocks with easy paper piecing method, but the effect is lovely don't you think, I really enjoy making this !!

The book where the quilt is from is on my previous blog although the pattern of this quilt was not in the book sadly... but I found it on the internet.

Already 5 little babyhats heading for middle asia....

And I started allover with my cable cushion, I didn't like it so instead of using needles 9, which was adviced I used 7 and I like it much better much tighter and I used an other cable , this one is more on top what i prefer...

Sewing, Stitching and Knitting.... Lovely weekend !!!

I know I know, I shouldn't start a new project... I have to finish one first.... but my family is asking for a quilt in the colors of our lounge sofa ... well I am happy to start it already... something different to do in between all the other projects.... this is the book where I found my inspiration 

In my own cabinet I found these wonderful fabrics, And I think these are about the colors where I am going to work with, but things can change a bit when I am going on... you know how it works...

This is the first block... I love the braun's and pink together, my favorite colors to gether with blue but I am not sure if I am going to us blue in this one... perhaps I first start with a braun/pink one... and the next a blue/braun one.... well will see... lets start with this one first...

And a little update of my sampler of stitches... the last part in coming next week and I am not so far behind any more.... I am now finally making my dd's and my hubby in the middle, changing the pattern a little bit because this is my family

And last but not least I am knitting little baby hats... I read about it in knippie... this is the site www.savethechildren.nl there you can find a free pattern of a baby hat.  Children in the middle of Asia will be very happy with this little hat. Last year the hats went to India... this year I don't know yet the project is from 22th oct until the end of Februari, so if you wish to knit a hat too, feel free to go to this website. I like to do it  it is, quick, you feel helping someone and your cleaning out your wooll in the same time !!!

Some projects I made during my holiday

I made this beautiful heart alphabet... I am still wondering what I shall do, shall I make a cushion in the shape of a heart or will this be to much... and should I just take a simple form.... 

I did my homework and made a lot of stars I made them by hand, sitting under the trees, in the hammock, sitting next to the swimming pool.... it was wonderful to make one or more stars a day... sorry I had no time to iron it this weekend but I wanted to show it to you... next time it will probably be sewn together and ironed nicely... 

And last but not least I was making  a cover for a hot water bottle (kruik in dutch) it is so fun to do it, but it was way to warm.... the temperature meter indicated 35 degrees and more... so even under the trees I had to stop.. but back in holland it is cold enough, and I can start the last part and finish another project ... because I already have some other on my list I will tell you soon....

What have I done lately.........well

When I am traveling I always take a little project with me... this is it... Home of a needleworker, a nice little embroidery,  the text sure fits me, I like embroidery, quilting and knitting .-) would it be enough needlework ??

Normally it would be wool or fabrics... but no this is lego... isn't it fun !!

Can't find time to work on the medallion quilt... have to do my homework, so hopefully soon you see the birds finally sitting on a branch with leaves and the pieces will be joined together  ... 

And  a finish.. I am so happy it feels very soft and was much easier to knit then I expected a pattern by Rowan, knitted with big wool (drift), the front you can see on the message below... 

 Almost finished, well finished, I am on the last rows of my Christel Seyfart mongolia Shawl... and she is Danish... ( but this shawl I already started a few years ago) and after the last rows I need to do the borders would love to start blue and black already, but have to finis 10 rows of 522 stitches ....

Medallionquilt, Knitting and an Update

This is the middle of my medallion quilt I now choose the colors for the birds but still have to make some more leaves etc... you will see it in one of my next updates.

      Update Scandinavian Christmas, 2 snowball done 11 to go....
3 hearts done, 20 to go, but I love to make them the applique way  C told me, thanks C.

 Knitting update Two beautiful patterns from Rowan, the first is almost finished I make it in a kind of blue, when it is finished I will certainly take a picture and show you...

This nice magazine arrived today, I really love to read and look in it. And found out that some of my friends toke a subscription at the same day as I, what a coincidence, it must be friends with the same hobbies, and Yes you are right they are.....
